ISFSC
The Institut Supérieur de Formation Sociale et de Communication (ISFSC) is a dynamic higher education institution in Brussels, offering hands-on programs that prepare students for real-world careers. Studying Multimedia Writing (Écriture Multimédia) there was an immersive experience that blended creativity, technology, and strategy. The program wasn’t just about learning theories—it was about applying them through concrete projects, whether it was designing websites, creating digital content, or developing communication strategies. The hands-on approach, combined with small class sizes and industry-relevant coursework, made the learning experience both practical and rewarding.

IESSID
The IESSID (Institut Européen Supérieur des Sciences de l'Information et de la Documentation) offers a Librarian program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to manage library systems, archives, and information services. However, my personal experience with the program was disappointing. The curriculum was rigorous, with professors holding high expectations that did not always align with the realities of the field.
In contrast to my previous experience in Canada, where the library profession was more adaptable and forward-thinking, I found that the librarian profession in Belgium, as taught in this program, was limited by traditional societal boundaries. The program did not effectively challenge or push the profession beyond these established norms, which led to a growing disillusionment with the field and ultimately caused me to leave the program.
